Banff LIFE is a program brought to young adults by the Town of Banff. Individuals wishing
to register for any of our Mountain Adventure Programs must be between the ages of 18-30, living and

Avalanche Skills Training (AST) Level 1 - $130.00 per person*

Take your safety into your own hands. This course is essential for anyone venturing into the backcountry.
Avalanches claim the lives of many every year. Be prepared and learn the basics of avalanche safety. Skills
covered included using avalanche beacon and transceivers, assessing snow packs, route finding, and more.
Day 1 will be classroom, day 2 in the field. Certificate will be issued at the end of the course.
Cost includes: 2 days of instruction, books, use of safety and snow study equipment, and transportation to field location.
You will need to bring adequate clothing and
equipment for a backcountry ski tour (or snowshoes).

Have you always wanted to ski away from the resorts? Join this one day course to learn the basics of backcountry
skiing. Everything from using skins, how to travel with touring gear and basic avalanche safety will
be addressed. This
is a great day to use as a primer for any longer trips. Intermediate skiing ability is necessary.
Cost includes: 1
day of instruction, use of snow safety equipment (shovel and probe), and transportation to skiing site. Ski
gear and transceiver not included cost.
Overnight Ski Touring Adventure - $120.00
Jan 28 – 29 (overnight)
Deep powder skiing, stunning views of ice elds and frozen waterfalls, a night sleeping in a cozy mountain hut -what more could you ask for on an overnight ski adventure?! Join us for this 2 day trip to Mosquito Creek Hostel. Intermediate skiing level required.
Cost includes: ACMG guide, transportation, use of snow safety equipment (shovel and probe) park fees and accommodation. Personal ski gear, transceiver and meal costs not included.
