Up The Wall is owned and operated by Erica Roles - an ACMG Guide residing in Canmore in the Canadian Rocky Mountains. In the summer time Erica guides rock climbing and mountaineering. In the winter time her work includes backcountry ski guiding, ice climbing and teaching avalanche courses.

Erica has been working as a guide since 2006. Born in the UK, she moved to Canada with her family in 1998. She fell in love with the mountains of Western Canada and made her home in the Bow Valley. Initially she began her ski career as a Pro Ski Patroller at Lake Louise Ski Resort. Wanting to share her passion for the mountains with other people led her to a career in guiding. She now works year-round as an ACMG guide.

As well as running private trips through Up The Wall, Erica works for a number of major guiding companies that include Yamnuska Mountain Adventures, RK Heliski and the Alpine Club of Canada.
